Hi! We hope you are continuing to stay healthy, safe, and happy. We know that our patients and families might have a few questions about what the future may bring so wanted to provide you with a few updates.
How is Telehealth going?
We continue to be impressed by the progress and gains being made by our patients each day via Telehealth physical therapy. Though we miss seeing our patients in person, Telehealth has pushed us to become even stronger in our movement analysis, education and empowerment of our patients, and development of creative, high-quality exercise and home exercise plans. Our patients have learned to listen to their bodies, to be creative, and the importance and power of compliance with their PT plan of care. When we started Telehealth over 9 weeks ago, Christina told me that she had once heard a famous manual therapist say in a continuing education course, “If I had to choose between my voice or my hands, I’d choose my voice” and now we all understand why.
Our patients have been happy too. Here are a few quotes from patients and parents:
“In the midst of a global pandemic, I know I can STILL rely on my Girl Fit team! While I am missing the hands on treatment modalities I would normally receive, Christina has been able to teach me how I can do my own manual work. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to continue learning about my body. The Girl Fit team is incredibly resilient, and further, they encourage and help to build resiliency within their patients.”
“New and adaptive treatment has been implemented in her plan!!”
“Michaela Main is my physical therapist and I love her! Doing online sessions is not ideal for her, but I’m so thankful for her instruction and enthusiasm.”
“Thoroughness, attention to detail and creative problem solving.”
“Individual attention and focused and directed support. Excellent knowledge!”
“Girl Fit PT is amazing. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and so nice to work with. My daughter has benefitted greatly from both the in-person sessions and remote sessions as well. She has been to other therapists for her running injury, but Girl Fit was able to create a program to help her heal and get ready for running in college. We are so grateful for their customized and state of the art techniques. Highly recommended!”
When will Girl Fit be re-opening for in person visits?
The CDC and Governor Baker have released guidelines and phased plans to reopen the economy in a safe manner. We feel it is our responsibility to our patients, therapists, and community to remain closed for in person visits and continue to focus on quality patient care through Telehealth services at this time. We will continue to keep our patients updated on our plans for a gradual re-opening when we feel that it is safe and appropriate for our patients and staff.
What will Girl Fit be like when we do return to in person visits?
Like many businesses today, we are adapting our normal operations to accommodate for new social distancing, face masks, even more stringent cleaning and disinfectant protocols. We have begun looking towards what our “new normal” will look like, and are implementing changes in the layout of our clinic, the scheduling structure of our appointments, and the number of patients and therapists we will allow in the clinic at any one time.
We have always been proud to hear Girl Fit referred to as the “clean PT clinic”, “spotless”, or even “that PT clinic that smells good,” but now that reputation takes on a whole new value to us. Though we have always worked diligently to keep our clinic clean, we will be taking even more precautions to ensure frequent sanitation of high tough areas and cleaning of all equipment between use by each patient.
Will Girl Fit still be offering group classes and memberships?
Our group classes and memberships will likely remain on hold even as we do return to in person physical therapy care. We have been recording some Girl Fit Strength & Stretch and Hip Hop Cardio & Core classes from home and would be happy to share those with our patients and clients upon request. For questions regarding previously purchased packages of classes or memberships please contact our billing manager, Paige Wilson, at billing@girlfitrocks.com.
What can we at Girl Fit do to further support you during this time?
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with questions, concerns, or requests. We are always here for you, even if that looks a bit different than it did 3 months ago. Thank you to all of our patients and families for your flexibility, open-mindedness, and resilience during this challenging time.
